One question, asked in the tool already open

The Answer Came from Your Company.

Priya asked Claude where the Halton rollout had got to and what was agreed about sign-off. Nobody opened BeSync’d or messaged a colleague to find out.

Searched the Organization’s Work

Claude sent the question to BeSync’d search and got back the matching work updates and documents Priya’s role can see, each with its title, type, date and content.

Opened the Two That Mattered

Claude opened the Halton sign-off agreement and the latest work update from Delivery in full to check the details before answering.

Answered with Its Sources

The reply said the rollout was in its final week with sign-off the one piece still open, and named the work update and the agreement it came from.

What Your Assistant Can Reach

The Sync API brings work into BeSync’d as messages and entities. The MCP Read API reads that work back out, across three sources, under the permissions each source already has.

The Work Your Team Shares

The work updates people record in BeSync’d, by voice or through connectors such as Slack, GitHub and Trello, each limited by role and department.

Records from Your Systems

The latest records your own systems send in as entities through the Sync API, found through search and opened one at a time.

Your Knowledge Base Files

Plans, agreements, standards and other files uploaded to the knowledge base. Each file keeps the permissions it was shared with, open to everyone or only to the roles and departments chosen, and is searchable once indexed.

From connection to answer

How a Team Member’s Question Is Answered

Each team member connects the AI assistant they already use. Questions are answered from the organization’s work, within that member’s role and department access.

Connected

Each Member Sets Up Their Own Connection

A team member creates the connection inside BeSync’d and adds it to their assistant once. The connection is issued to that member’s account, with no separate agent account holding permissions of its own.

Scoped

Limited to the Member’s Role

Every search is limited to what the member’s role and department can open before anything is looked up. Entries outside that access are never fetched, so they can’t appear in an answer.

Searched

Matched by Meaning and Keywords

BeSync’d searches work updates, connected records and knowledge base files together, weighting recent work higher, and returns the closest matches with their title, type, date and full text.

Answered

Answered in the Member’s Assistant

The assistant reads the results, can open any one in full, and writes the answer in the conversation. The connection is read only, so nothing in BeSync’d is created or changed.

Setup and control

Connect It Once, and Manage It from BeSync’d

Any active member can create a connection from the Integrations page in BeSync’d and add it to the AI assistant they already use.

Setup guides cover Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT and Claude.ai, and any other assistant that supports MCP can connect with OAuth or a token.

Choose What Each Connection Reads

When a member creates a connection, the member picks which sources it may read: work updates, connected records, knowledge base files, or any mix of them. Sources left out of a connection are not available to the assistant.

Review and Revoke Connections

Each member sees a list of their connections, with the sources each one reads, when it was created and when it was last used. A revoked connection is refused on its next request.

Connect with a Standard OAuth Sign-In

Any assistant that supports standard OAuth sign-in for MCP, such as ChatGPT and Claude.ai, can connect by adding the BeSync’d address. The member then confirms the connection once on a BeSync’d authorization screen.

FAQs

What is MCP, in plain terms?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant look things up in another system during a conversation. With the BeSync’d connection added, a member’s assistant can answer from the organization’s work instead of only from what the assistant already knows.

Which assistants can use the MCP Read API?

Any assistant that supports remote MCP connections, signing in with OAuth or using a token. The API documentation has setup guides for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT and Claude.ai. Some assistants only allow custom connections on certain plans or with a setting turned on.

Can an assistant change or delete anything?

No. The connection is read only. An assistant can search and open work updates, connected records and knowledge base files, and it has no way to create, edit or delete anything in BeSync’d.

Could an assistant see something its member cannot?

No. Every request runs with the member’s current role and department access, and anything outside that access is filtered out before the search runs. Owners can see the whole organization in BeSync’d, so an owner’s connection can read the whole organization too. See how permissions are applied

Are files in our knowledge base included?

Yes. Files uploaded to the BeSync’d knowledge base are searchable once they are indexed. Each file keeps the sharing it was given, open to everyone or only to chosen roles and departments, and an assistant only finds the files its member is allowed to open.

Do we have to move our data anywhere to use the MCP Read API?

No. Nothing is exported or copied into another system ahead of time. The connection searches BeSync’d when a question is asked, and only the matching results are sent to the member’s assistant to write the answer.

Read only, scoped to each member’s role

The best place to answer a question about your company is wherever your team is already working.

Each member sets up one connection in the AI assistant they already use, and the assistant answers from the organization’s work, knowledge base files included, within the access that member already has.
